Another review for Sunshine and a quick thank you! :D

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iPad, iphone, ipod, News, retro, Reviews, space, stars, Sunshine on November 11th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello! 😀

Well, launch day for Sunshine is drawing to a close for me. Still lots to do to try and promote my little game tomorrow, but it’s been a good day overall!

Thank you to everyone that helped spread the word, and for all the kind words for Sunshine! It’s really appreciated!

As the icing on the cake, this review came in late last night, and is rather wonderful! It’s by arcadelife.co.uk (and we always worry about disappointing them as they’re lovely and know their stuff!).

Fortunately it’s a good review, with an incredible 91/100 on the scoreboard for Sunshine! I had to sit down and have a cup of tea to recover, believe me!

Here’s the review!

Thanks to arcadelife, 148apps.com, theAppReviewer, Twitter and Facebook followers, people that left reviews and ratings on iTunes and everyone else that helped today! It’s been fun and knackering all at the same time!

So that’s day 1… time for bed methinks!

Thanks again!

148apps.com reviews Sunshine! :D

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iPad, iphone, ipod, News, ProjectSOL, retro, Reviews, shmup, Shooter, space, stars, Sunshine on November 10th, 2011 by quantumsheep

So, the game is out today on iPhone and iPad, and you can find more details on it here!

I got a wonderful review of the iPad version from 148apps! It’s lovely!

You can read it here 🙂

It’s so wonderful that the reviewer absolutely got what the aim of the game is – to make you smile like an idiot! 😀

I’ve always liked the site – our previous games scored 3 stars (Gravitrixx) and 3.5 stars (Air Supply) from them. They’re hard to please, but they’re fair!

But most importantly, they give someone like me the chance of a little exposure in the sea of Apps that are out there.

And for that, above all else, I’m always very grateful!

Hope you enjoy the review – it made me smile lots!

Cheers,

QS 😀

The forecast for tomorrow? Global SUNSHINE :D

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iPad, iphone, ipod, Music, News, retro, Shooter, stars, Sunshine on November 9th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re well!

I’m very excited right now! The iPhone version of Sunshine got approved today, which means tomorrow, Thursday 10th November, Sunshine will be available on the app store for iPhone and iPad!

How awesome is that? 😀

I’m going to have a busy night, sending out promo codes for review and generally telling people about the game!

BUT!

I just wanted to say a quick ‘thanks’ to my followers, especially those on Twitter and FaceBook.

It’s always lovely to connect with people that play my games, either through social media or just plain emails and forum postings.

People are extremely kind, supportive and just plain awesome. So thank you all very very much!

It makes the world of difference to me, and I really appreciate it!

SO!

Lots to do! Look out for the game tomorrow! I hope you enjoy it! 😀

Thanks!

Making bugs in the sun…

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iPad, iphone, ipod, Music, News, planets, ProjectSOL, retro, science, shmup, Shooter, space, stars, Sunshine on October 19th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello all, hope you’re well!

Just wanted to give a quick update on the status of “Sunshine – Here comes the Sun”.

The game has been with testers for over a week now, and I’m listening to all the feedback. Most of it has been very positive, which is lovely!

There are some bugs/niggles though which I’m trying to work through.

The feedback has been awesome though, and I’m excited to nearly be finished (again!).

Seems that when a game is 80% done, there’s always another 80% to go 😉

Anyway, I’m working on it! Keep your eyes peeled for the Sun! 😀

In other news, I’ve finally decided what ‘ProjectCAP’ will be – as in what type of game. That’s a long way off of course, but I’m trying to source the music right now, while also keeping an eye on Air Supply: SOS.

So much to do. So little time!

Here comes the Sun! :D

Almost!

Good progress made is the good news coming out of Sheep Towers! The game is done – it works – you can play from start to finish.

I’ve implemented GameCenter leaderboards for each level, and put in the level progression. It’s all *touch wood* working!

I am having some sound issues, and there are about 100 small things that need tidying up. But it’ll be with the testers in the next day or so, just to give it the all clear.

Hopefully submitting by Thursday/Friday this week, for a release the week after.

HOPEFULLY!!!

Fingers crossed, eh?

Here’s another pic to keep you going!

Cheers,

QS 😀

Sunshine – Here comes the Sun! :D (formerly ‘ProjectSOL’)

Posted in App, App Store, Games, iphone, News, ProjectSOL, science, screenshots, Shooter, Sunshine on September 9th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hey everyone!

So, I got some art back from Damien who’s done a lovely job and managed to pretty much match what my friend Dan did art wise for ProjectSOL.

I’m now confident the game’ll get finished! And soon! Yay!

I didn’t want to announce the title – “Sunshine – Here comes the Sun” till I knew I’d be able to finish it!

No ‘proper’ screenshots yet, but here’s one of the title screen as it stands right now 🙂

Cheers, and I’ll update with more details when I can!

A birthday :D

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, News on September 8th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone!

While getting together a lot of horrible accounts/tax stuff I realised that Quantum Sheep, as a fully fledged company, turned two this week.

Yay!

It’s been a very difficult two years if I’m honest, and one thing has become clear:

If I didn’t love doing this, I’d have given up a long, long time ago.

So, apologies. You’re stuck with me for now! 😀

I’ve learnt a huge amount in those two years. Most importantly, I’m *still* learning. And having a blast. So all is good!

What’s next? Well, I’m hoping to officially announce ‘ProjectSOL’ this month – and maybe have it out by the end of September / start of October.

Then it’s all hands on deck for Air Supply: SOS, hopefully out before the end of the year. It’s an iPad/Mac game, but I’m seriously thinking of making an iPhone version too. I’ll see how the game handles on a smaller screen and make a judgement call once I get back into it.

Next year will hopefully see Air Supply 2 come out (I’m hoping for a March launch – a year after the original Air Supply came out. It’ll be a pretty huge undertaking. I don’t know if I can do it, but I’ll give it a good go!

But enough about me! I’d just like to thank everyone that has helped me out over the last two years, be it someone that’s done art for me, music, code help or just advice/support. Far too many to mention, but every little helps, and it’s always hugely appreciated! Cheers!

Secondly, I’d like to thank anyone that’s tried one of my games out. I’m grateful that you gave me a chance, and I really hope you enjoyed your game! Thanks! 😀

So – looking forward to the 3rd birthday already! Wonder what will happen in a year…

Well, it’s been a while!

Posted in Air Supply, iPad, iphone, ipod, Mobile, News on September 2nd, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re well!

Haven’t had much to report of late – still working on ProjectSOL, which will hopefully get an official name very soon as the aim is to get it done this month!

It’s a game I made for my mother, believe it or not! I won’t mention her age here (she’d kill me I think!) but I see her struggling with some of my faster paced games, and wanted to make something she’d enjoy.

As it turns out, those that have seen it have said ‘Oh, it’s a kids game then?’.

Well. Yes and no!

Yes, it has a very lovely look that’s kid friendly. Sort of. I think it looks lovely, and I hope the charm of the graphics will win over even the most hardened of hearts! 😉

The aim is to have fun, obviously, but also to pack an emotional punch at the end. We’ll find out soon enough how successful I am in doing that!

Oh, and it has hats! What’s not to love!

After that, it’s back onto Air Supply – SOS. I’m very excited about this one, especially as I just booted it up on my iPad and spent/wasted the next two hours playing it! The sign of a good game in anyone’s book I think! 😀

So, a busy few months to the end of the year. And I’m already looking forward to March *next* year. Air Supply 2, people. Air Supply 2.

I’m off out for drinks! Have a glorious weekend everyone!

Hello, a review, and thanks! :D

Posted in .Matrixx, App Store, Apple, iPad, Music, News on July 20th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re having a lovely day! 😀

Just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about our latest, .Matrixx, which is out and about in the iPad section of iTunes 😀

People seem to be enjoying the game, which is lovely, and the numbers are growing on GameCentre every day.

Thank you all for giving the game a shot! Hopefully we’ll get a mention in New and Noteworthy soon (prays to our *very* profitable recently ‘Apple Overlords’) and some more reviews should be coming in soon.

In the meantime, here’s one from the always awesome arcadelife.

Some highlights:

“No birds, no zombies, no tired old physics puzzles; just cool graphics, cooler music and my own personal favourite control method – relative touch. Thank you.”

“You will like this if you enjoy: Getting your hair blown back while riding the cutting edge of indie iPad gaming.”

“This game rocks!”

How lovely is that! Thanks to everyone at Arcadelife for that!

iTunes reviews are also pretty positive!

“Its really addicted, love the very new form of gaming on the iPad and the design is outstanding.”

“This game takes my favorite aspect of arcade shooters, bob and weave and takes away the distraction of shooting. Easy to pick up and play and addictive as they come.”

“Been playing this for 2 hours straight, my finger hurts and it’s so worth the pain!! Lovin’ the music and sound fx, reminiscent of Wipeout, and the gameplay is so addictive, you just have to see for yourself!!”

Thanks to those of you that left such lovely comments/reviews – it’s awesome 😀

Oh, and I’m sorry about my seemingly insurmountable high score – it just kinda ‘happened’ :O

Can you beat me? 😛

Next: ProjectSOL. Probably. 😀
