Hello all, and a happy new year to you!

Had a productive start to the new year! Currently I’m still working on three projects, but have also been working on porting my current games to other platforms!

Below are Air Supply and Gravitrixx on a Kindle Fire:

.Matrixx is also looking a bit nice on the Kindle Fire too πŸ™‚

Other versions I’m aiming for is Mac for Air Supply, and possibly iPad. Also trying to work out how to get stuff onto Windows 8 Devices!

Busy times ahead! Hopefully you’ll see the fruits of my labours over the last year soon!

Thanks for reading, and here’s to a fun filled 2013!

Toodles!

I can’t please everyone, but…

Posted in .Matrixx, App Store, Games, iPad, Reviews on February 7th, 2012 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone! Hope you’re well!

Things are getting very busy at the moment. Most of the back-end stuff for ProjectSammy is in place. I have systems set up to handle the inventory, objects, locations, feedback and puzzles. It’s really quite overwhelming at times!

Soon I’ll start actually putting the game together, which will probably take a little over a month with any luck (that’s ‘developer’ talk for TWO months!). I’ve been very productive of late but the task ahead is huge!

In other news, I just wanted to say that I do read every single review posted on iTunes, good or bad! I appreciate that complete strangers take time out of their day to let me (and others) know what they think of my efforts!

I got a really well written review the other day for .Matrixx on the iPad by a chap called ‘The Other McCoy’. It reads:

Fine gameplayDifficult one to rate. It’s a good example of the new indie golden age we have on IOS – but I’d say one of the simpler games of the sort. Graphics are minimal (but clean), sound is a retro homage (quite nice actually), and gameplay is *golden*. It’s pretty straightforward but it works well. I’m no authority but it seems quite original to me. Another thing I like about it is that it has an easy-going “just one more time” vibe even though it does get pretty busy. With some arcade games I have to be in the mood for the challenge but I can goof around with this one anytime. I was tempted to rate it 3 because of its minimal nature but the gameplay and vibe take it to 4.

Firstly, thank you so much for giving the game a chance! Just as importantly though, I’m very glad you seem to be enjoying it. It really does make my day to read reviews such as yours, sir, and I thank you, and everyone else that writes reviews, for your opinions!

Spreading fun throughout the world is my mission! I can’t please everyone of course! But by Jove I try!

Many thanks!

DotMatrixx now available on Mac! :D

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, Apple, dot matrix, Gravitrixx, Mac, Music, News, retro on December 21st, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re all well. Busy I suppose. Very, very busy! πŸ˜€

My latest Mac game is out today! Hurrah! You can find it here!

The poor game was rejected by Apple because, rather obviously, you can’t start an app name with a ‘.’ (as in .Matrixx, as it appears on the iPad!).

Anyway, Apple were very good and approved the latest version in record time I think (it was just a few days – thank you, Apple Overlords!) and the game is now out!

Hope you enjoy the game! It features some awesome music by Amiga Agia, and it’s actually a lot of fun using a mouse to control your avatar – very precise and stuff! πŸ˜€

So that’s it for 2011 I think! Thanks for all your support, and I’ll post a summary at some point I’m sure!

Cheers all!

Progress! :D

Hello everyone!

While I wait for early access to Star Wars: The Old Republic, I thought i’d do some work πŸ˜‰

So what have I been up to!???

Well, with any luck, Gravitrixx for Mac will be out on the Mac Appstore tomorrow! (Friday December 15th). Fingers crossed, eh?

DotMatrixx should be available for Mac too at some point, if it passes Apple’s approval process of course! It’s been re-submitted, so now I’m just waiting to see what happens!

On a related note, A Merry Gravitrixmas is available for iPhone for free! It’s a Xmas themed version of Gravitrixx, and will only be available during the holidays! I hope you like it!

I’ve also submitted an update to Sunshine with hopefully some minor bugs squashed and an extra hat for the holidays! Yay! πŸ˜€

Look for that *hopefully* next week!

Finally, work still continues on getting Air Supply and Attack of the Kraken on the Mac, as well as possibly iPad. Look for those in the new year.

I’m hoping that next year will see Quantum Sheep games on the Kindle Fire, and maybe some other android based tablets/phones. We’ll see!

And, of course, there are new games in the works. Namely Air Supply – SOS and an adventure game of some sort!

BUSY BUSY SHEEPY!

So, that’s it for now. I’ll post some more updates as stuff becomes available!

Thanks for reading!

Hello, a review, and thanks! :D

Posted in .Matrixx, App Store, Apple, iPad, Music, News on July 20th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re having a lovely day! πŸ˜€

Just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about our latest, .Matrixx, which is out and about in the iPad section of iTunes πŸ˜€

People seem to be enjoying the game, which is lovely, and the numbers are growing on GameCentre every day.

Thank you all for giving the game a shot! Hopefully we’ll get a mention in New and Noteworthy soon (prays to our *very* profitable recently ‘Apple Overlords’) and some more reviews should be coming in soon.

In the meantime, here’s one from the always awesome arcadelife.

Some highlights:

“No birds, no zombies, no tired old physics puzzles; just cool graphics, cooler music and my own personal favourite control method – relative touch. Thank you.”

“You will like this if you enjoy: Getting your hair blown back while riding the cutting edge of indie iPad gaming.”

“This game rocks!”

How lovely is that! Thanks to everyone at Arcadelife for that!

iTunes reviews are also pretty positive!

“Its really addicted, love the very new form of gaming on the iPad and the design is outstanding.”

“This game takes my favorite aspect of arcade shooters, bob and weave and takes away the distraction of shooting. Easy to pick up and play and addictive as they come.”

“Been playing this for 2 hours straight, my finger hurts and it’s so worth the pain!! Lovin’ the music and sound fx, reminiscent of Wipeout, and the gameplay is so addictive, you just have to see for yourself!!”

Thanks to those of you that left such lovely comments/reviews – it’s awesome πŸ˜€

Oh, and I’m sorry about my seemingly insurmountable high score – it just kinda ‘happened’ :O

Can you beat me? πŸ˜›

Next: ProjectSOL. Probably. πŸ˜€

An apology… and a FREE game for your MAC :D

Posted in .Matrixx on July 16th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hi everyone,

For those looking for .Matrix on iTunes:

Firstly: thank you for looking for it! You’re awesome!

Secondly: sorry you can’t find it πŸ™

I’d asked for an expedite from Apple so that the release coincided with the marketing effort ( twitter/facebook/previews/YouTube/press releases etc ).

I screwed up and asked for Friday 16th July ( when it should have been Friday 15th July ).

Obviously it wasn’t approved in time for Friday, and assumed that some clever spark at Apple had changed it to Saturday 16th July.

Alas this hasn’t happened.

I can only apologise for this, and I now have no idea when it’ll be released – I’ve manually set the release date to tomorrow (Sunday July 17th) and I’ll keep you posted, obviously!

Again, apologies to anyone looking forward to this, and thanks so much for your support!

Anyway, to try and make up for it, here’s the Mac version, totally free!

It’s the full game (without GameCenter, oviously) and though it’s not quite the same (control is much MUCH better on an iPad), I hope it gives you an idea of what the game’s like!

Enjoy!

.Matrixx heading to an iPad near you!

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, Apple, dot matrix, iPad, Music, screenshots on July 11th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello all! Hope you’re well!

I’m hoping that this Friday (July 16th) will see the release of the next Quantum Sheep game, .Matrixx (pronounced ‘dot matrix’).

The game sees the player posing as a hacker, piloting an ‘avatar’ within the enemy mainframe, ‘Lothos’, trying to collect blue data spheres while avoiding the enemy red data spheres and picking up powerups!

The enemy data spheres are constantly changing direction, and are later joined by ‘Homer’ and ‘Stalker’ enemies – a challenge for most people!

The pressure increases as time goes on, and the game’s very very simple, but fiendishly addictive (helped no doubt by GameCenter leaderboards and unlocks for your avatar, backgrounds and music!).

Here are some screenshots, and I hope you’ll enjoy playing the game on your iPad!

.Matrixx on the way…

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, dot matrix, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, Music, News on June 29th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hey all, hope you’re well!

I’ve been working on .Matrixx (dotmatrix) for over a month now, and it’s nearly done!

Nearly!

I’m just waiting on some art for the unlockable backgrounds and player avatars!

Soon as I get them, I’ll be submitting to the app store – but the release date is likely to be July 16th (to allow for Apple review, and to avoid the inevitable ‘big boy’ sales over July 4th).

The game’s an endless collect/avoid ’em up for the iPad – and it’s bloody addictive, even if I do say so myself!

For now, here’s the splash screen!
