Well, it’s been a while!

Hello everyone, hope you’re well!

Haven’t had much to report of late – still working on ProjectSOL, which will hopefully get an official name very soon as the aim is to get it done this month!

It’s a game I made for my mother, believe it or not! I won’t mention her age here (she’d kill me I think!) but I see her struggling with some of my faster paced games, and wanted to make something she’d enjoy.

As it turns out, those that have seen it have said ‘Oh, it’s a kids game then?’.

Well. Yes and no!

Yes, it has a very lovely look that’s kid friendly. Sort of. I think it looks lovely, and I hope the charm of the graphics will win over even the most hardened of hearts! πŸ˜‰

The aim is to have fun, obviously, but also to pack an emotional punch at the end. We’ll find out soon enough how successful I am in doing that!

Oh, and it has hats! What’s not to love!

After that, it’s back onto Air Supply – SOS. I’m very excited about this one, especially as I just booted it up on my iPad and spent/wasted the next two hours playing it! The sign of a good game in anyone’s book I think! πŸ˜€

So, a busy few months to the end of the year. And I’m already looking forward to March *next* year. Air Supply 2, people. Air Supply 2.

I’m off out for drinks! Have a glorious weekend everyone!

Hello, a review, and thanks! :D

Posted in .Matrixx, App Store, Apple, iPad, Music, News on July 20th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re having a lovely day! πŸ˜€

Just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about our latest, .Matrixx, which is out and about in the iPad section of iTunes πŸ˜€

People seem to be enjoying the game, which is lovely, and the numbers are growing on GameCentre every day.

Thank you all for giving the game a shot! Hopefully we’ll get a mention in New and Noteworthy soon (prays to our *very* profitable recently ‘Apple Overlords’) and some more reviews should be coming in soon.

In the meantime, here’s one from the always awesome arcadelife.

Some highlights:

“No birds, no zombies, no tired old physics puzzles; just cool graphics, cooler music and my own personal favourite control method – relative touch. Thank you.”

“You will like this if you enjoy: Getting your hair blown back while riding the cutting edge of indie iPad gaming.”

“This game rocks!”

How lovely is that! Thanks to everyone at Arcadelife for that!

iTunes reviews are also pretty positive!

“Its really addicted, love the very new form of gaming on the iPad and the design is outstanding.”

“This game takes my favorite aspect of arcade shooters, bob and weave and takes away the distraction of shooting. Easy to pick up and play and addictive as they come.”

“Been playing this for 2 hours straight, my finger hurts and it’s so worth the pain!! Lovin’ the music and sound fx, reminiscent of Wipeout, and the gameplay is so addictive, you just have to see for yourself!!”

Thanks to those of you that left such lovely comments/reviews – it’s awesome πŸ˜€

Oh, and I’m sorry about my seemingly insurmountable high score – it just kinda ‘happened’ :O

Can you beat me? πŸ˜›

Next: ProjectSOL. Probably. πŸ˜€

.Matrixx heading to an iPad near you!

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, Apple, dot matrix, iPad, Music, screenshots on July 11th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello all! Hope you’re well!

I’m hoping that this Friday (July 16th) will see the release of the next Quantum Sheep game, .Matrixx (pronounced ‘dot matrix’).

The game sees the player posing as a hacker, piloting an ‘avatar’ within the enemy mainframe, ‘Lothos’, trying to collect blue data spheres while avoiding the enemy red data spheres and picking up powerups!

The enemy data spheres are constantly changing direction, and are later joined by ‘Homer’ and ‘Stalker’ enemies – a challenge for most people!

The pressure increases as time goes on, and the game’s very very simple, but fiendishly addictive (helped no doubt by GameCenter leaderboards and unlocks for your avatar, backgrounds and music!).

Here are some screenshots, and I hope you’ll enjoy playing the game on your iPad!

.Matrixx on the way…

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, dot matrix, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, Music, News on June 29th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hey all, hope you’re well!

I’ve been working on .Matrixx (dotmatrix) for over a month now, and it’s nearly done!

Nearly!

I’m just waiting on some art for the unlockable backgrounds and player avatars!

Soon as I get them, I’ll be submitting to the app store – but the release date is likely to be July 16th (to allow for Apple review, and to avoid the inevitable ‘big boy’ sales over July 4th).

The game’s an endless collect/avoid ’em up for the iPad – and it’s bloody addictive, even if I do say so myself!

For now, here’s the splash screen!

A thank you to Japan, and a new game to boot!

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, iphone, ipod, retro on June 14th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all well!

Just wanted to let people know that I’ve been working on an iPad game recently and it’s shaping up very nicely!

I’m hoping to get a build out to a few testers over the weekend, if not before, with a submission to Apple soon after.

It’s called .Matrixx (DotMatrix) and it’s a ‘prequel’ of sorts to Gravitrixx, the Tron inspired puzzle game.

It has a similar look, but plays completely differently as it’s an ‘endless’ survival game!

A high score is the name of the game here, with Game Center support, and I’m just adding some unlocks and achievements too.

The soundtrack’s pretty special as well, as you’d come to expect from little old me! πŸ˜€

More details to come soon!

In addition to all this, Air Supply is still doing reasonably well for a game that’s now over three months old! Bless it! I hug it every night to say ‘thanks’!

And I’d like to say ‘thanks’ to everyone who’s tried the game out! It really means the world to me that so many people have enjoyed the game!

Indeed Japan, in particular, seems to have taken Air Supply to their hearts! As I write, it’s still in the Japanese charts, and that is just simply awesome!

Mainly because I don’t speak any Japanese ( πŸ™ ), and therefore can’t really ‘market’ the game there.

I imagine it’s just word of mouth, so thank you, Japan! It’s very much appreciated!

More news soon! πŸ˜€
