Well, it’s been a while!

Posted in Air Supply, iPad, iphone, ipod, Mobile, News on September 2nd, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re well!

Haven’t had much to report of late – still working on ProjectSOL, which will hopefully get an official name very soon as the aim is to get it done this month!

It’s a game I made for my mother, believe it or not! I won’t mention her age here (she’d kill me I think!) but I see her struggling with some of my faster paced games, and wanted to make something she’d enjoy.

As it turns out, those that have seen it have said ‘Oh, it’s a kids game then?’.

Well. Yes and no!

Yes, it has a very lovely look that’s kid friendly. Sort of. I think it looks lovely, and I hope the charm of the graphics will win over even the most hardened of hearts! πŸ˜‰

The aim is to have fun, obviously, but also to pack an emotional punch at the end. We’ll find out soon enough how successful I am in doing that!

Oh, and it has hats! What’s not to love!

After that, it’s back onto Air Supply – SOS. I’m very excited about this one, especially as I just booted it up on my iPad and spent/wasted the next two hours playing it! The sign of a good game in anyone’s book I think! πŸ˜€

So, a busy few months to the end of the year. And I’m already looking forward to March *next* year. Air Supply 2, people. Air Supply 2.

I’m off out for drinks! Have a glorious weekend everyone!

ProjectSOL is on the way…

Posted in Games, iphone, ipod, News, ProjectSOL, Shooter, stars on July 28th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello all! Hope you’re well!

I’ve been working on ProjectSOL for the last two years…

Obviously not all in one go! I started in August 2009, inspired by something I saw while on holiday and wanting to make a game so easy to play that even my mother could have a go on it!

It wasn’t till a year later, that my friend Penguin ( Yay! Penguin! πŸ˜€ ) decided on the art style. It’s quite lovely!

Unfortunately, Penguin was/is a very very busy man! So the project was worked on by me on and off between releases.

I’ve finally found an artist that can help me finish this game! I’m still playtesting it, getting the feel right, the scoring, the pace etc…

But now, I also have the rest of the graphics pretty much done. I’m just waiting on the hats!

THE HATS!!!

ProjectSOL is a shooter of sorts. But it’s not like what you’re thinking right now!

Screenshots soon!

Hello, a review, and thanks! :D

Posted in .Matrixx, App Store, Apple, iPad, Music, News on July 20th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone, hope you’re having a lovely day! πŸ˜€

Just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words about our latest, .Matrixx, which is out and about in the iPad section of iTunes πŸ˜€

People seem to be enjoying the game, which is lovely, and the numbers are growing on GameCentre every day.

Thank you all for giving the game a shot! Hopefully we’ll get a mention in New and Noteworthy soon (prays to our *very* profitable recently ‘Apple Overlords’) and some more reviews should be coming in soon.

In the meantime, here’s one from the always awesome arcadelife.

Some highlights:

“No birds, no zombies, no tired old physics puzzles; just cool graphics, cooler music and my own personal favourite control method – relative touch. Thank you.”

“You will like this if you enjoy: Getting your hair blown back while riding the cutting edge of indie iPad gaming.”

“This game rocks!”

How lovely is that! Thanks to everyone at Arcadelife for that!

iTunes reviews are also pretty positive!

“Its really addicted, love the very new form of gaming on the iPad and the design is outstanding.”

“This game takes my favorite aspect of arcade shooters, bob and weave and takes away the distraction of shooting. Easy to pick up and play and addictive as they come.”

“Been playing this for 2 hours straight, my finger hurts and it’s so worth the pain!! Lovin’ the music and sound fx, reminiscent of Wipeout, and the gameplay is so addictive, you just have to see for yourself!!”

Thanks to those of you that left such lovely comments/reviews – it’s awesome πŸ˜€

Oh, and I’m sorry about my seemingly insurmountable high score – it just kinda ‘happened’ :O

Can you beat me? πŸ˜›

Next: ProjectSOL. Probably. πŸ˜€

.Matrixx on the way…

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, dot matrix, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, Music, News on June 29th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hey all, hope you’re well!

I’ve been working on .Matrixx (dotmatrix) for over a month now, and it’s nearly done!

Nearly!

I’m just waiting on some art for the unlockable backgrounds and player avatars!

Soon as I get them, I’ll be submitting to the app store – but the release date is likely to be July 16th (to allow for Apple review, and to avoid the inevitable ‘big boy’ sales over July 4th).

The game’s an endless collect/avoid ’em up for the iPad – and it’s bloody addictive, even if I do say so myself!

For now, here’s the splash screen!

A thank you to Japan, and a new game to boot!

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, iphone, ipod, retro on June 14th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone! Hope you’re all well!

Just wanted to let people know that I’ve been working on an iPad game recently and it’s shaping up very nicely!

I’m hoping to get a build out to a few testers over the weekend, if not before, with a submission to Apple soon after.

It’s called .Matrixx (DotMatrix) and it’s a ‘prequel’ of sorts to Gravitrixx, the Tron inspired puzzle game.

It has a similar look, but plays completely differently as it’s an ‘endless’ survival game!

A high score is the name of the game here, with Game Center support, and I’m just adding some unlocks and achievements too.

The soundtrack’s pretty special as well, as you’d come to expect from little old me! πŸ˜€

More details to come soon!

In addition to all this, Air Supply is still doing reasonably well for a game that’s now over three months old! Bless it! I hug it every night to say ‘thanks’!

And I’d like to say ‘thanks’ to everyone who’s tried the game out! It really means the world to me that so many people have enjoyed the game!

Indeed Japan, in particular, seems to have taken Air Supply to their hearts! As I write, it’s still in the Japanese charts, and that is just simply awesome!

Mainly because I don’t speak any Japanese ( πŸ™ ), and therefore can’t really ‘market’ the game there.

I imagine it’s just word of mouth, so thank you, Japan! It’s very much appreciated!

More news soon! πŸ˜€

GameCenter comes to Air Supply!

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, Music, retro, sci-fi, Shooter, space on May 18th, 2011 by quantumsheep

“Finally!” I hear you exclaim!

Indeed!

My little game now has GameCenter. A whole new world of addiction for seasoned Air Supply players, and a nice incentive for new players as they unlock colours!

I did something a little different. The scores submitted to GameCenter are based, of course, on how far you run. But there are leaderboards for every colour, for both Air Supply mode and Fuel Supply mode πŸ˜€

Additionally, these two modes have an ‘overall’ score. So whichever colour’s your favourite that you like to play with, you’ll get a score for. And if it’s the highest score of all the colours unlocked, that will be put into the overall score for that mode!

It’s already got me addicted and playing my own game more and more trying to beat people’s scores when I shouldΒ really be working!

Thanks for playing, and I hope you all enjoy it!

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, News, retro, Reviews, sci-fi on May 11th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello all! πŸ˜€

Business Insider made a very interesting and fun post called “The Best iPhone Games You’ve Never Played” – and Air Supply is featured!

So if you’ve never played Air Supply, give it a go here!

Also, I’ve just submitted an update to Apple with GameCentre leaderboards added. There’s one for each colour available in the game, as well as an overall highest score leaderboard for Air Supply and Fuel Supply modes!

Hopefully it’ll go through ok! Looking forward to seeing everyone competing at last!

Wish me luck! πŸ˜€

Air Supply gets some Fuel Supply in version 1.3 :D

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, News, retro, screenshots on April 11th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend!

I spent mine finishing off version 1.3 of Air Supply!

Yay!

I just finished submitting it to Apple, so hopefully will be with you all very soon!

Anyway, here’s a quick rundown:

Version 1.3:

New mode! “Fuel Supply”

A whole new mode! Spaceman Sam has recovered his spaceship, but wouldn’t you know it, he’s sprung a fuel leak!

*Your ship is constantly being dragged down towards the planet – keep your altitude up by pressing on the left hand side of the screen!
*Keep your Fuel Supply up by collecting the ‘F’ symbols!
*Look out for UFOs and Flying Aliens!
*Avoid the deadly meteorites – they cannot be shot down, so avoid them!
*Select the new mode at the bottom of the Unlocks Selection screen.
*Three new achievements to attain!

And here’s a quick screenshot of the new mode in action:

I hope you enjoy playing it!

Some exciting updates planned for 1.4 and beyond – stay tuned, earthlings, and thanks very much for playing!

A couple more reviews are in! And we love them! :D

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, art, Games, iphone, ipod, Music, News, retro on April 8th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello, lovelies! Hope you’re well! πŸ˜€

I got a couple more reviews in for Air Supply – and they’re both a jolly good read!

First up is a pocketgamer.co.uk review, which you can find here.

Some snippets:

“It’s fast, familiar, and fun, giving you everything you want in an endless runner.”

“Air Supply has enough charm and good content to make stand with the best endless running games”

And secondly, here’s a very ‘deep’ review from KillScreen. It’s beautifully written, and I really enjoyed reading it, and hope you do too!

Air Supply is currently available for iphone and ipod touch, here.

Thanks everyone! The adventure continues! πŸ˜€
