.Matrixx on the way…

Posted in .Matrixx, App, App Store, dot matrix, Games, Gravitrixx, iPad, Music, News on June 29th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hey all, hope you’re well!

I’ve been working on .Matrixx (dotmatrix) for over a month now, and it’s nearly done!

Nearly!

I’m just waiting on some art for the unlockable backgrounds and player avatars!

Soon as I get them, I’ll be submitting to the app store – but the release date is likely to be July 16th (to allow for Apple review, and to avoid the inevitable ‘big boy’ sales over July 4th).

The game’s an endless collect/avoid ’em up for the iPad – and it’s bloody addictive, even if I do say so myself!

For now, here’s the splash screen!

GameCenter comes to Air Supply!

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, Music, retro, sci-fi, Shooter, space on May 18th, 2011 by quantumsheep

“Finally!” I hear you exclaim!

Indeed!

My little game now has GameCenter. A whole new world of addiction for seasoned Air Supply players, and a nice incentive for new players as they unlock colours!

I did something a little different. The scores submitted to GameCenter are based, of course, on how far you run. But there are leaderboards for every colour, for both Air Supply mode and Fuel Supply mode 😀

Additionally, these two modes have an ‘overall’ score. So whichever colour’s your favourite that you like to play with, you’ll get a score for. And if it’s the highest score of all the colours unlocked, that will be put into the overall score for that mode!

It’s already got me addicted and playing my own game more and more trying to beat people’s scores when I should really be working!

Thanks for playing, and I hope you all enjoy it!

😀

A couple more reviews are in! And we love them! :D

Hello, lovelies! Hope you’re well! 😀

I got a couple more reviews in for Air Supply – and they’re both a jolly good read!

First up is a pocketgamer.co.uk review, which you can find here.

Some snippets:

“It’s fast, familiar, and fun, giving you everything you want in an endless runner.”

“Air Supply has enough charm and good content to make stand with the best endless running games”

And secondly, here’s a very ‘deep’ review from KillScreen. It’s beautifully written, and I really enjoyed reading it, and hope you do too!

Air Supply is currently available for iphone and ipod touch, here.

Thanks everyone! The adventure continues! 😀

Posted in Air Supply, App, App Store, iphone, ipod, Music, New and Noteworthy, News, Reviews, sci-fi on March 17th, 2011 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone!

We’ve added some stuff to Air Supply! Details below:

*Added an extra unlockable character to the game!
*Added yet another awesome Mister Beep track, making seven (SEVEN!!!) in total!
*Added a volume save button for sound effects and music
*Added a little more love by fixing some minor bugs

We also got five stars from a video review of 1.1 here:

I love that vid. I mainly feel bad about the guy’s broken screen, but I love that he seems to be enjoying himself regardless, and you can even hear him humming along to the music!

AWESOME 😀

And there’s more actual gameplay footage here.

I’m busy working on 1.2 at the moment – hopefully done by the weekend!

Hope you’re all still enjoying the game! Lots more to come, Air Supply wise!

And as always, the Touch Arcade community has been very supportive and receptive here. We’re looking forward to doing some cool stuff with them in the future!

So, day 1. I have NO idea how it’s gone. But it’s out and people are playing it!

That’s a win!

Quick update

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Games, iphone, ipod, Music, puzzle, retro, Shooter on September 12th, 2010 by quantumsheep

Hello everyone!

Apologies for the lack of updates. I’ve been very busy!

Quantum Sheep, as a company, is kinda growing.

As well as an update to Attack of the Kraken, I’m working on a number of projects at the moment, including:

Project ‘1984’

Project ‘s’

Project AWE

Gravitrix

The first two I’ve been working on for many, many months now.

Project 1984 is a retro shooter, with some of the most awesome music you’ll ever hear from some very talented people! It stands a snowball’s chance in hell of being ‘successful’ thanks to its dated (did I say ‘dated’ – I meant ‘retro’!) look. It really will redefine the term ‘niche’ 😛

Project ‘S’ was started about a year ago, and has been put on the back burner due to time constraints on myself and the lovely guy who’s doing all the cutesy graphics. I may, in the meantime, make a quick ‘card match’ game for the iPad as an offshoot of the main game. The graphics already submitted are just wonderful.

Project Awe is so secret I can’t even tell you what kind of game it is. In a massive departure from the norm, the game is being made by a group of people that will form a subsidiary of Quantum Sheep. This means the Sheep will effectively become a publisher!

There’s business plans, cost assessments, team meetings (in the pub!), a development schedule, a game design… It’s all very serious! :O No release date for that, but I’m hoping we’ll have something to show people towards Christmas! I hope you’ll like it!

Gravitrix is new. My colleague Jake and I thought it up two days ago, and today we have an almost fully working prototype to play with which is fun as a proof of concept. Three test levels have been made, and Jake and I will share the level building duties. It’s a ‘quick’ game, but that still probably means a few weeks till release!

I’m hoping that Project 1984, Project S and Gravitrix will all be out by the end of November. These things tend to take time though. We’ll see what happens!

In addition, we’ve commissioned a new look website that we hope you’ll like. Don’t worry, all the info here will be integrated into it. Hopefully we won’t lose any of my musings!

So. Busy busy busy! Just wanted to keep the lovely visitors to this place appraised of what’s going on!

The few remaining months of 2010 will be very exciting indeed!

Let me tell you a story…

Posted in App, App Store, Apple, Game Salad, Games, iphone, ipod, Music, News, planets, sci-fi, shmup, space, stars on March 7th, 2010 by quantumsheep

We took some time out and went to a talk at Tate Britain about Narrative in Videogames. It was pretty interesting, and involved such luminaries as Charles Cecil (of Broken Sword fame), and Dave Gibbons (of Watchmen notoriety!).

One interesting point was about audio, and how that’s so important to a game, and yet seems to be left till last.

I wondered what the makers of Guitar Hero, Rez, Vib Ribbon, Surf Rider et al think of that?

It’s also relevant to what we’re doing here at QS. While the basic shape of one of upcoming games is there, and it’s a classic, it’s the music that really shapes the experience.

It’s not a music game though!

We’ll leave you with that taster for now! More soon!
